Fiber Optic Network Construction in Hueneme Bay

WIFI Harbor’s Response to President Randy Barlow's Message to the Ownership in the 11/17/2023 CLA Bulletin regarding Broadband: In CLA President Randy Barlow's message to the ownership, Mr. Barlow said that the Board had received a communique from the City's consultant, Preston Young, stating in part: “WIFI Harbor, although I believe a good-hearted and local company, does not have the financial stability needed for a project of this magnitude. The reliance on government money is a concern and, being involved in the processes of grants is not for sure and can be very slow and arduous to obtain.”

Mike Taylor, President of WIFI Harbor LLC’s Message to Hueneme Bay Residents: WIFI Harbor LLC had hoped we could be the fiber optic internet provider in Hueneme Bay. My colleague, with over 30 years of Electronic facility systems design and construction experience, including fiber optic systems, assembled a team of vendors; A fiber optic design firm with experience working with municipalities, an underground fiber optic construction firm with experience working with national telephone and cable companies, and the top electronic head end equipment manufacturer and design firm. This team had more than enough experience and expertise to build a network project of this magnitude, but since we were unable to raise private funding or public grant funding, it is a fact that we did not have the financial stability needed for a project of this magnitude, just like the City’s consultant, Preston Young correctly stated.

WIFI Harbor LLC wants to thank our 400 customers who have always supported and appreciated us. We are, indeed, a good-hearted and local company and WIFI Harbor LLC will continue to provide Hueneme Bay with the same prompt personal customer service and reliable internet service going forward.
